Erosion and Sediment Control

Rain and wind induced erosion causes the breakdown of soil structure and quality in addition to the loss of soil mass. Eroded soil suspended in runoff carries with it nutrients that affect the balance and clarity of water to the detriment of fish and other aquatic habitat. Excessive deposition of sediment in streams blankets stream beds thus destroying the habitat crucial to the survival of fish and other aquatic life.

Typical project elements include:

  • Temporary and permanent construction site erosion control
  • Special winter grading erosion control
  • NPDES Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) and associated monitoring programs
  • Streambank stabilization
  • Shore protection
  • Post wildfire restoration and erosion control
  • Landscaping erosion control
